"Bursa and Cumalıkızık: The Birth of the Ottoman Empire", which Nomination file prepared by the Bursa Metropolitan municipality in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was inscribed on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List on 22nd of June, 2014.
  "Bursa and Cumalıkızık: The Birth of the Ottoman Empire" nomination file including  Inns District (Orhan Gazi Complex and surroundings), Sultans' Complexes (Hüdavendigâr, Yıldırım, Yeşil, Muradiye) and Cumalıkızık Village areas, prepared by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was inscribed in the UNESCO's World Heritage list containing 1007 world heritage.
  With the target of enhancing the national and international recognition and tourism potential of our world heritage sites, 22 June is declared as the "UNESCO World Heritage Bursa Day" by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and events will be held annually at the relevent dates.  For the 1st anniversary of the declaration as part of "UNESCO World Heritage Bursa Day" events were organized between 20-27 June 2015. Also, as part of 50th anniversary of ICOMOS, the cultural heritage advisory organ of UNESCO, "Being World Heritage: Expectations and Responsibilities Seminar" was organized by the Metropolitan Municipality with attendance of international experts. The seminar was held at Bursa Merinos Atatürk Congress Culture Centre Hüdavendigar Hall starting with opening speeches at 13:00 and proceeding between 13:30 and 17:00.
The panel was chaired by Site Manager of Bursa Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu and featured the following presentations; "Historical Progress of ICOMOS, UNESCO and World Heritage Relations" by Giora Solar (Conservation Architect- Urban Planner),  "Examples of Studies on World heritage Sites of Turkey: Nemrut, Istanbul, Divriği, Edirne" by Prof. Dr. Zeynep Ahunbay, "ICOMOS and the World Heritage List: Examples of Historical Cities" by Dr. Alvaro Gomez-Ferrer BAYO (Architect), "Cultural Heritage: Authenticity and Integrity" by Prof.Dr. Füsun Alioğlu, "Evaluation of the Process at the First Anniversary of acceptance of Bursa to the World Heritage List" by Prof. Dr. Neslihan DOSTOĞLU.
Following the panel, between 17:00 and 17:30 Osman Ezgi and Ercan Aksakal from Karagöz Museum performed a Karagöz-Hacivat (Traditional Turkish Shadow Play) show titled "Patrimonito's Way" about World Heritage Bursa. Additionally a "Traditional Hand Crafts" exhibition on World Heritage Sites of Bursa was on display at the Hüdavendigar Hall foier. The exhibition included works of Arife AKTUĞ (Tezhip artist), Nükhet POYRAZ (Glazed Tile Artist), Hatice YÜKSEL (Weaving Artist), Ersut BİÇKİN (Hat artist-Calligraphist), Zeynep GÜLTEKİN (Paper Marbling Artist), Mutlu ÇATALKAYA (Paper Marbling Artist) ve Aylin ÖZKAN (Miniature Artist).
